DigiCell participating in NanoMATexpo & conference

On 7-8 May 2025, DigiCell participated in the NanoMATexpo & conference. The event offered a number of thematic workshops. DigiCell contributed to the Materials Characterisation Workshop with two presentations

  • Sustainable materials and advanced characterization for the next generation batteries” by Luca Belforte from Centro Ricerche FIAT (CRF)
  • Advanced Electrical Battery Characterization” by Ferry Kienberger from Keysight Technologies GmbH Austria

There is a close link between the performance of batteries in electric vehicles and the materials used. Other factors that influence their sustainability are the origin of the materials and the supply chain. Luca Belforte elaborated on their efforts in making the materials increasingly efficient and sustainable. He also talked about how CRF is contributing to making their characterization more thorough and efficient.

Ferry Kienberger talked about the electrical characterization of batteries and the electrochemical modelling. Starting from calibrated impedance data of single cells, accurate models can be derived and AI models (e.g. ontologies) support data interpretation and interoperability in the larger ecosystem.

NanoMATexpo is developing communities and offering a virtual exhibition platform to support commercialisation of nanomaterial applications. Their communities relate to different nanomaterial applications in thematic areas such as energy, biomedical, environmental, transport and digital.
