Battery enthusiasts coming together at Battery2030+ conference
Last week brought together over 250 battery experts from across world for the Annual Conference of Battery2030+.
The event took place at Politecnico di Torino (POLITO), with the research team around Silvia Bodoardo and Carlotta Francia being highly involved in its preparation and organisation.
The scientific content was excellent, and significant room was given to young researchers to present their work and achievements. The poster session was particularly valuable, offering occasions for discussions, networking, and direct interaction with scientists working on emerging topics. POLITO presented a poster on “Optimizing Waterborne LNMO Chathode Production: Evaluating Alternative Binders for Enhanced Electrochemical Performance and Processability” showing the results of DigiCell.
Another key topic was European competitiveness, including ongoing initiatives, future roadmaps, research funding strategies, and ways to sustain European production. Europe benefits from outstanding researchers, universities, and research centers: we are pretty good at science, and it is now crucial to use this capability to enhance our industrial competitiveness. Overall, the conference conveyed a positive outlook for the future.
Also present from DigiCell: Ferry Kienberger from Keysight Technologies and coordinator of DigiCell and Luca Belforte from Centro Ricerche FIAT, focusing on defining the specifications and requirements of the automotive market, cell materials development and batteries characterisation.
